Aerojet Ordnance Tennessee

Aerojet Ordnance Tennessee, a US Army weapons contractor located in rural Telford just outside of Jonesborough, is one of the largest manufacturers of depleted uranium weapons in the country.

This production in East Tennessee threatens the health of workers at the plant and people who live near the plant while it threatens our soldiers and those living in war zones.

This program will highlight the dangers of DU to noncombatants in war zones as well as to those living close to their production and will describe the campaign to end the production of uranium weapons at Aerojet.

Linda Cataldo Modica has been working with the Christian Peacemaker Team’s Depleted Uranium Campaign for several years and has helped to identify offsite DU (a radioactive heavy metal that is both neurotoxic and mutagenic) contamination of the soil, water and sediment around Aerojet.
