Dr. Caldicott's Visit Draws Crowds and Generates Discussion

Dr. Helen Caldicott, the world's foremost anti-nuclear advocate, paid a visit to the Tri-Cities last week at APEC's bequest, largely due to the tireless efforts of Linda Cataldo Modica.

Dr. Caldicott had a busy day last Thursday, first touring the areas surrounding Aerojet Ordinance Tennessee Inc. in Jonesborough and Nuclear Fuel Service in Erwin. Both facilities handle highly toxic nuclear material that pose extreme danger to the population of the Tri-Cities, In her first lecture at ETSU, Dr. Helen Caldicott had some very strong sentiments about the two plants:

"I'm totally freaked out by what I've seen today."
